Placencia
Located at fifty km from the coast, Placencia is situated in a favourable position for very exciting immersions. Splendid resorts beyond the beach –making an easy access to the barrier- render this locality amusing to visit, even without having immersions.
In this area there are sharks of 12 meters length that are moving behind Placencia during the full moon period (from April to June), eating eggs of fish.
Sometimes a group of magnificent sharks appear all together: that is an image difficult to forget! In the sea water of Placencia, there are more than 80 species of fish. Around Tarpurm Cave the enthusiast of immersion can see plenty of Tarpon.
In Laughing Bird Cave there are spectacular walls and coral reef. Silk Cave, Ranguana Cave, Moho Cave and Sapodilla Cave are very important sites to visit too.
