Ambergris caye
This well known island located to the North-East of Belize City is on top of the places of diving and snorkelling. There are many resorts and the places for diving are at a distance of 10 minutes walking.

Hol Chan Navy Reserve ( in the Maya language it means “narrow channel) was founded in 1987; it is the first navy Park in Belize and is located about 6 Km. South-East from San Pedro. The Reserve was established with the aim of checking fishery and diving activities and to save the unique conformation of the channel, the numerous resources of fishery. The Reserve is useful to carry out the connection among the three most important habitats of Belize: mangroves, seaweeds and corral reef.
The reserve, whose extension is about 7,8 Km., has been divided into four zones, allowing the maximum use of the area and at the same time its preservation.
“A” zone is the reef area, “B” zone is the seaweed beds, “C” zone is reserved for the mangroves, “D” zone: Shark Ray Alley. The four areas are divided by buoys located on the surface.
Hol Chan Marine Reserve is an ideal place for snorkelling and diving.
