Monuntain Pine Ridge

Mountain Pine Ridge

It is a natural reserve of 800 sq.km., including the beautiful, unpolluted regions of  western Belize,  full of water falls and wild orchids, parrots, red beak toucans and many other  examples of exotic flora and fauna. The impassable roads of the reserve are often inaccessible during the rainy season, but it is just this difficulty to preserve the area intact for those who wish to explore it walking, riding or by canoe. The excursions that we can have are numerous:  the “Rain Forest Medicine Trail” is a path rich of medical herbs in the pluvial Forest;  recently they discovered the Maya Chechen Ha Cave, where some ceremonial objects have been found; another  excursion is to reach  Caracol, a wide Maya town, not yet restored and therefore filled with jungle;  then the “Hidden Valleys Falls,” whose height is 300 meters.
